What is Power Sticking Contest 3rd Place Winner: Robert Agoh

An Interview with Robert Agoh

Our third place runner up was Robert Agoh from Baltimore. His video showed us that Power Sticking means firmly planting your feet to the ground and standing up for what you believe in! We think this is a great definition of Power Sticking. We are thrilled that Robert’s video made it into the Top 3 and we encourage all our fans to stand up for what they believe in!

We wanted to know a little bit more about the process of how Robert came up with the idea and about his experience entering into our “What is Power Sticking” video contest- so we asked him! Check the Q&A below. But first, if you haven’t seen the video, you can watch it here:

How did you come up with the concept of your Power Sticking video?

The idea came by simply trying to turn the phrase “Power Sticking” into a visually entertaining viral video, as the rules stated. We had to make a video that would catch people’s attention and also be easy enough for them to recreate. I still believe with the right marketing “Power Sticking” has the potential to become the next viral meme like “Planking” was, only with an actual product to promote “Power Sticking” could generate a lot of revenue for your company.

Have you entered a video into a contest like this before?

No this was the first ever video contest entered by my friend and I so getting third place was an accomplishment in itself. But I still believe we had the best video that has the potential to be your next national campaign.

Does Power Stick make you feel more “manly”?

Yes, because it gives me confidence and there is nothing manlier than confidence.

If you could change one thing about your video, what would it be?

I would not change my video, I would change the way the contest was judged. Instead of Facebook votes I would have rather had members of the Power Stick company review and pick the best video. Because we all know my video was the best video, due to the simplicity of it and the reproducibility of it.

Any additional thoughts?

I hope I do not come away sounding like a sore loser; I appreciate the experience I received from shooting the video. We followed the rules and made potentially the best viral campaign your company has ever made. And I hope you guys recognize that because if you want to compete with other name brands you need a hook to get young people buying your product. And what bigger hook is there than a fun viral meme anyone can do this summer. Take advantage of that.

–Thank you again, Robert! For entering our Power Sticking contest and we hope to work with you again soon! Keep on Power Sticking 🙂
